The sessions are getting more and more interesting … Kevin’s session on JavaScript and Flex interaction was pretty awesome and then Daniel Dura’s session on AIR APIs was very very nice … but the one that I’m listening to right now is a lot more interesting … Salesforce.com is presenting what they can do with Flex, AIR and Salesforce Apex/API … remember I work for SAP so this is interesting

As you know I’m at the AIR Camp in Washington DC today …. we just started once again after our first break and things are going great till now … there’s a good turn out .. about 200 people I guess and Mike Downey did a a quick show of hands earlier and looks like there is about 50-50 split of HTML/JavaScript – Flash developers out here, the excitement about AIR in the JavaScript world pleases me a lot as to me it means that the whole web world is slowly but steadily moving towards an Internet where richness is a norm and not something us UI enthusiasts have to sell to the decision makers.
We have had the following sessions till now:
- Keynote (Mike Downey): Mike Downey gave a a very nice introduction into what AIR is and the various products are coming out in the future. AIR Beta 2 will be released on MAX. AIR 1.0, Flex 3, Adobe Media Player will come out early 2008
- Building your first AIR application with Adobe Flex (Mike Chambers): Mike Chambers presented the basics of AIR for Flex developers and showed how to go about building a basic AIR app.
- Building your first AIR application with HTML and JavaScript (Kevin Hoyt): Kevin did an equivalent of the above session for JavaScript developers. I really liked Kevin’s presentation style.
Kevin is right now presenting “Leveraging HTML and JavaScript within Adobe AIR” which is very exciting … he just showed how to use Flash filters for HTML DIVs … Awesome !!
Really looking forward to the rest of the day. read more

Starting tomorrow early morning, I will be traveling for a month to meet the various people that I work with at SAP in Germany and United States. My travel plan looks like this:
- Heidelberg, Germany (20th July to 28th July)
- Washington DC, USA (28th July to 5th August)
- Newtown Square, PA, USA (5th August to 19th August)
- Washington DC, USA (19th August to 21st August)
- Bangalore, India (22nd August)
I am very excited about the trip and the two reasons contributing most to this excitement are:
- This is my first visit to anywhere in Europe (barring a few transit stops at Heathrow Airport) and I am really looking forward to some relax time in the beautiful European weather… I’d appreciate your suggestions on places I should visit in and around Heidelburg.
- Also, I will be able to catch the onAir bus in Washington DC on the 20th of August, which is real cool as i would get to meet all these people whose blogs I read so religiously every morning.
If you live in any of the above cities and you like talking about Flex, drop me a line and we’ll catch for coffee or something.

Yup I’ve done it as well .. I bought my first Mac today and in the few hours that I’ve had with it … I’m loving it !!
The reason I resisted buying a Mac the last time I was in the market for a Laptop was because I did not want to be using different operating systems at work and at home … but today my urge to own this slick piece of machinery got to the better of my sensibility and I went ahead and got it anyway. read more
