Silverlight

I’m on a Mac and I recently installed Firefox 3 Beta 3 … I wasn’t aware that Silverlight 1.0 currently does not support Firefox 3 betas .. so during my daily blog reading this morning I ended up on Microsoft’s Silverlight Install page with the intention of installing the plugin … the page (see screenshot above) highlights that its only a 1MB download .. I started the download and to my surprise the download was actually 4.7MB in size … that’s sneaky Microsoft, I know the competition is tough but you don’t have to lie.

  2. That’s amazing… Why would they do that?

  3. Interestingly, Silverlight 2 will be of about that size so maybe that could be the issue you are running into. Just a guess…

  4. I think you are wrong.The download is not 4.7MB.I have downloaded it and it’s just 1.4 MB.I think you are telling a lie

  5. yep, 1.38 MB

  6. Nope, On my Mac the download is 4.7 MB, I just checked on a windows system, thats where its 1.38 MB … so Microsoft still the liar … at least for all the Mac users

  7. however 1MB != 1.38 MB or 1.4 MB so, that’s considered a lie, you win Mrinal !

  8. Thanks for the verdict Kumar :)
