January 1, 2008
Hundreds of Flex based Rich Internet Applications came to life in 2007 … here are 10 applications that I liked most, these are the ones that made me wish I was involved in building them … I’m sure there were apps that made you wish the same, so do share your own list … here’s mine ..
- Picnik
- Buzzword
- How far can I go?
- Amgen Tour Tracker
- Adobe Media Player
- SalesBuilder
- UniversalMind’s LaunchPad
- SlideRocket
- Ribbit
- Paper Critters

I know ribbit is more a component than an application, but I just totally love it .. I think it will play a big role in shaping the RIAs of 2008

What abt Yahoo Webmessenger and Live Docs!!!
January 2nd, 2008
Yahoo Web Messenger is cool, but it doesn’t cut it on my top 10 .. its a totally a personal preference think … the apps I listed above made me wish I was involved in building them .. the ones that made you wish the same could surely be different.
Livedocs has great content but I don’t like it a lot as an app… its kinda slow, more over I think it existed before 2007.

I forgot to congratulate the developers of the above apps in the post …. guys I envy you all and I hope you have a great 2008 … your work is very inspiring.

PaperCritters stands out for me because it was built by one guy, who was learning Flash/ActionScript/Flex as he was doing it.
Of course I’m a little biased having taught him at the Academy of Art and watching JR take off and do PaperCritters was astounding and fun.

@Ajay,
I just realized that you were probably referring to Instacoll’s Live Documants and not Adobe’s “Livedocs” … as livedocs does not use any flash/flex …. I was referring to adobe’s livedocs in my earlier comment.
Live Documents seemed awesome in the initRIA presentation and I loved it … those guys have archived a lot in the short time that they have spent building the app … and their grid component can totally kick Flex’s Datagrid’s or even AdvancedDatagrid’s ass … I hope to get access to their beta soon and then I’d be able to judge better.
